THERAPIES I OFFER

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

There are many reasons why a person goes to therapy, including the desire to learn to manage emotions, avoid negative thoughts, overcome a fear, regain motivation, overcome loneliness, improve relationships, face a change in life, remember to take control, or accept that we do not have it, navigate pains of the past,  Overcoming nerves, sadness, emotional emptiness, dealing with the challenges of daily stress, work, or just talking to someone. You define the goal, and my job is to accompany you to navigate the storm and come out of it stronger, more resistant, and more resilient.

You must go through the resistance that comes from vulnerability, sharing aspects of your life, and exploring your thoughts, emotions, desires, and beliefs. It's normal to be afraid of being judged, but in my therapy, you don't need to hide anything. You'll be in a safe space to explore every facet of yourself. I'm here to help you, not to judge you.

Do you have a difficult time handling the struggles in your life?

Could you use an expert opinion on what you’re going through or a non-judgmental ear to listen?

Could you benefit the most from individualized attention?

Are you hesitant to talk to others about your problems?

If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, then individual therapy could be the solution you’ve been seeking. Individual therapy differs from Group or Alternative therapy methods in the way that you are the sole focus of a single therapist who helps you develop and achieve your goals for therapy.

If you’ve been feeling hopeless or lost lately or struggling with a problem that feels unsurmountable, individual therapy could help you improve your everyday life.

So, if any of these sound like you…

  • You keep worrying about the same problem over and over

  • You don’t know whom you could ever trust with knowing about your secret struggle

  • You wish there were somebody who could tell you why you feel this way

  • You’re interested in therapy, but you don’t want to give up total control

  • Your struggle is negatively impacting other areas of your life

  • It would be best if you had somebody to listen to you and your feelings for once

  • You’re interested in therapy but not sure how it could fit into your life

Then individual therapy could be right for you. Individual therapy is helpful for many people because it’s the best way to get customized therapy. Group therapy may have its own set of numerous advantages. Still, you want more control over the pacing of your treatment, the methods used, the amount of analysis or feedback you can receive, and the timing of your sessions. In that case, you owe it to yourself to explore individual therapy.

If you’re looking for help in improving your everyday life – or for a more tailored therapy experience – you would be an excellent fit for individual therapy services.

Please reach out to me today for an assessment for individual therapy or to schedule your first appointment.

THERAPY FOR RELATIONSHIPS

Relationships are a fundamental part of our lives. When they go well, they provide great well-being. When they are in constant conflict, they affect all areas of our lives. I don't see conflict as negative; it is an excellent opportunity for learning and growth.  What matters is how the conflict is addressed. The intention is to ensure you can honestly and respectfully discuss your differences.

In my therapies, the priority is that real and deep conversations emerge to address the conflict without judgment, contempt, and if it is possible to reach a compromise or find a solution. This dynamic involves acknowledging, asking, offering, agreeing, and listening. Applying these concepts can go a long way in strengthening the quality of relationships.  Human relationships indeed require dedication and time, but it is also true that deepening your relationships increases your quality of life.

COUPLES COUNSELING

Couples counseling can help with communication, connection, connecting after having a baby, emotional and sexual intimacy, conflict, attachment, discernment (deciding whether to stay in a marriage), and creating a healthier relationship.

THERAPY FOR ADOLESCENT

Does your teen have trouble dealing with their emotions? Is their behavior sometimes disruptive to your home life? Have they experienced sudden loss or trauma? The stage of adolescence comes with many challenges. A teenager's emotions are exponentially elevated by changing hormones, searching for identity, and navigating new social situations. These factors have changed how they socialize, relate, and see themselves.

Many think that adolescents do not have problems, but it really is a very drastic change in which many elements of life are unbalanced, affecting their family, school, and social life. My passion is to accompany young people to express their emotions, situations, and anxieties more clearly. I love giving space in my practice to teenagers so that they can unreservedly be and say what they feel, what hurts them, what distresses them, what they want, what they do, what they sound like, what they think, and what they expect. The intention is to accompany them to prevent minor problems from becoming major complications.

As they grow, adolescents develop social skills and emotional intelligence. This awareness helps them to develop into healthy, happy, and successful individuals. But some teens have trouble processing their emotions, which often leads to behavior that negatively impacts their school life, home life, and overall well-being.
Therapy offers adolescents a safe space to work through their thoughts and emotions. With the help of a specialized therapist, children can resolve problems, modify behaviors, and make positive and lasting changes.

AFFAIR RECOVERY

Infidelity is not always a failure. In fact, it's much more common than you might think. There is a tendency to judge in a very simplistic way, black or white, victim and executioner. But the reality is that infidelities have a lot to teach us about our expectations, ourselves, fears, identity, and affective bond, among many other things.

The job of therapy is not to save a marriage or encourage divorce; the job of therapy is to understand what that couple wants and where they would like to go. There are many types of infidelities, and the key is not to approach them from a moralistic or sanctioning point of view. Instead, investigate with curiosity with the intention of understanding to reduce the damage, act congruently, and handle the storm as best you can.

GROUP THERAPY

Group therapy is a form of psychotherapy in which a small group of people is treated and covers several different methods. The main types of groups are a process group, a support group, and an educational or skills-based group. These are not necessarily distinct categories. For example, an educational group may have support elements. See below for descriptions and benefits of group methods. Group work is a tremendously rewarding opportunity for connection, sharing, and transformation as members learn and grow from their work and each other.

THERAPY FOR DEPRESSION

Are you feeling hopeless, isolated, and not your usual self?
Do these thoughts often enter your mind?
I am worthless and can’t do anything about it.

I feel guilty for just wanting to eat, sleep and be alone.
I hate who I am these days.
I can’t stop crying, which makes me want to stay away from others.
I feel gut-wrenching pain, but no one understands.
My life and the world around me are dark. I hate it, but I can’t change it.

If you have had any variation of these thoughts and don’t feel like your usual self, you may suffer from depression. I want you to know that you are not alone and that there are people who can help. Many of my clients find relief in realizing that their struggle does not own them and that there are many options available to have hope for their lives once again.
I understand the social stigmas that come with the label of being depressed and thus aim to help clients sort out their environmental, biological, and circumstantial factors while offering support and care through a very dark time in their lives. If you are hoping to lighten this load and feel like yourself again finally, contact me today for a consultation.

THERAPY FOR ANXIETY

Is anxiety taking over your life? Does it feel like you can’t control it, no matter how hard you try? Have you already tried therapy but found it ineffective?

If this sounds like you, I’m confident I can help. My practice offers the most effective forms of treatment to get the relief from the anxiety that you deserve.

Research shows that therapy is usually the most effective option for treating anxiety disorders. That’s because anxiety therapy – as opposed to anxiety medication – treats more than just symptoms of the problem.

Often, these are the symptoms of anxiety:

  • Nervousness, restlessness, or being tense

  • Feelings of danger, panic, or dread

  • Rapid breathing or hyperventilation

  • Increased or heavy sweating

  • Trembling or muscle twitching

  • Weakness or lethargy

  • Difficulty focusing or thinking clearly about anything other than the thing you’re worried about

  • Insomnia

  • Obsessions about certain ideas; a sign of obsessive-compulsive disorder

  • Anxiety surrounding a particular life event or experience that has occurred in the past is a sign of post-traumatic stress disorder

Therapy can help to uncover the underlying causes of your worries and fears, learn how to relax, look at situations in a new, less frightening way, and develop better-coping mechanisms and problem-solving skills.

If you suffer from an anxiety disorder, I invite you to contact me today for a free consultation.
